Muffins & Egg pies

I have a heart on making muffins & egg pies. Two of my favorite muffin flavors are banana and my special blueberries muffin. They are pretty moist, not too sweet and healthy goodness! Egg pie is famous sweet Filipino dessert similar to egg custard. A favorite treat too! So yummy!

Hello Kitty theme

My niece likes Hello Kitty, so i made her chocolate flavor cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting and fondant chocolate cake in Hello Kitty theme.

This was my first try to use fondant cake and was so suprise with the outcome.

I made a bow similar to HK's bow with Happy Birthday logo          

HK head shape is almost perfect. Not bad for first timer.

I enjoyed making this cute cupcake with Hello Kitty toppers.

It is sooo yummy!!!

Result: The birthday girl was sooo happy and her guests was amazed.

April 2012

Today is April 30, 2012 and it’s a fresh start for me! It’s my first time to joined millions or should I say trillions of blogspot users and I’m just happy to post my first and will continue… (I’m sure my sisters will be thrilled if they knew that I finally created a blog for my yummy cakes).

Let me try to introduce little things about myself. I grew up in the Philippines and my family decided to migrate in Canada back in 2000. When I was a kid I like to watched my grandma, mom and sister’s cooking. My grandma and mom are good cooks as well as my sisters and brothers. I also would like to give credits to my teachers and professors during my school years. I’m proud to say that they are my building blocks and I learned a lot from them.

I started the like for baking since I was in high school. I was sooo fascinated with beautiful and yummy pastries, breads and cakes that I see on TV, magazine and bakery shops. The first cupcake I made was cheese cupcakes, it’s a type of cupcake that are made from flour, powder milk, sugar,egg and etc top with grated cheese. It was a project in school and best sellers to my neighbors. I was thrilled & grateful about it. There’s a lot of good story to tell about but I don’t want you my readers and lookers to get bored. I also love to  make Filipino deserts like Egg pies, Mercedes de Brazo, pandesal (bread like dinner rolls) but right now I’m into making cupcakes and customized fondant cakes. Making these sweets makes me happy; it’s like a stress reliever from busy office work environment and at the same time im doing what i like to do. Putting heart in every homemade and customized cakes i made. For me this is a very inspirational hobby!
